The Four(teen) Golden Rules of Successful Change

Today’s “Live Unstuck Coaching Moment” suggests that maybe the word “change” should be spelled with three A’s, not just one. These “A’s” would stand for Awareness, Attitude, and Actions. Additionally, there are four(teen) golden rules associated with these “A’s” — each of which contribute to successful change.

We Don’t Fear Change, We Fear BEING Changed!

Today’s “Live Unstuck Coaching Moment” is based on the realization that we don’t really fear change — instead we fear BEING changed without our involvement, or without our permission. The message for leaders? Recognize that change is a grieving process — and those that “need to” change will need to process through their grief. Also, encourage PARTICIPATION in the change process, and the outcome will far better, more positive and enduring as a result.

Social Media for Introverts – Control and Succeed!

Today’s “Live Unstuck Coaching Moment” focuses on the notion that introverts (like me!) can be successful users of social media — and NOT feel trapped into having to react to everything, to exposing ourselves unnecessarily, etc. Take control of your social media as an introvert, and it can create success for you!

Try Asking “What If?” Instead of “What Now?”

Today’s “Live Unstuck Coaching Moment” focuses asking great questions. And the best question of all? What If? However, many folks tend to ask the low energy question of “What Now?”… Try it yourself — the next time you’re facing a difficult situation, or the world seems to be throwing you nothing but curveballs, ask “What If?” instead.

Appreciate: To See the Value In AND To Increase the Value Of

Today’s “Live Unstuck Coaching Moment” focuses on the word appreciate. It is my favorite word — because it has two meanings, both of which are positive. Are you appreciating those around you today?

Today’s “Live Unstuck Coaching Moment” on why some people “make it” and others don’t when faced with difficult, life-threatening situations. It’s all about adopting the “survivor’s mentality” as quickly as possible according to writer Lawrence Gonzalez in his book, Deep Survival. Adapt and overcome.

Get Our “Being” Right So Our “Doing” Matters

Today’s “Live Unstuck Coaching Moment” focuses the messages we hear often this time of year related to “stop procrastinating, and get doing!” Certainly, “doing” is important — but “doing” without a sense of purpose can be aimless and pointless. Therefore, let’s get our “being” right so our “doing” is connected to something of meaning.

Marketing Doesn’t Have to be Hard, It Just Needs to Be Consistent

Today’s “JUMP! – Get Unstuck” moment relates to the quote, “Marketing Doesn’t Have to be Hard, It Just Needs to be Consistent…” Marketing is really all about relationships (or good marketing is, rather!), and good relationships need to have consistent care and feeding.

Want to Be Comfortable with Uncertainty? Practice It!

Today’s “JUMP! – Get Unstuck” moment relates becoming “good at” uncertainty — being comfortable with the unknown… I seem to be spending a great deal of my time with individuals who are certainty-based (engineers, project managers, etc.), who work for certainty-based organizations. However, they find themselves stuck — and dream about doing new things, creating better results, finding new answers… Today’s message says, “If you want to be good at uncertainty, practice it!”

Three Strange Things I Appreciate . . .

Today’s “JUMP! – Get Unstuck” moment relates to three things I’m strangely appreciative about… It’s the day before Thanksgiving here in the US, and for many of us, it’s a time when we stop and count our blessings. Me? I count my blessings every day — and give thanks for Debi, our kids, my health, my friends, my community, and the ability to be of service to others. But… In thinking this year, I’ve come up with three things — strange things — that I appreciate as well.

The Greatest Problem with Communication

Today’s “JUMP! – Get Unstuck” moment is about how ineffective communication causes us to get and STAY stuck. Consider the quote from the famous Irish playwright of the early 1900’s George Bernard Shaw who wrote “The greatest problem with communication is the illusion that it has occurred.” What do you think? Is effective communication an illusion in your life?

Normal Reaction to Get Angry? Make a New Choice . . .

Today’s “JUMP! – Get Unstuck” moment is all about the way we react to things that come on to our to do list that we didn’t ask for, don’t appreciate, and might just make us a little angry… What’s your normal reaction? Do you get angry or frustrated? Maybe there’s another choice — to look at different possibilities, and see what “wants to happen.”

No Mountains Out of Mole Hills – Just DO It.

Today’s “JUMP! – Get Unstuck” moment is all about getting those “I really don’t want to do it” items off your list… They hold us in our tar pits, and sap our precious energy away from doing things we love. Get those little, annoying things done.
